Why we created TopTeams
The Reality
Teams are important. Businesses are built around teams. Teams are where work gets done, capability is built and change happens.

The experience people have in their teams is a key driver of engagement and well-being. Teams can be more effective at solving complex problems that require creativity.
Yet, our ability to create great teams remains elusive.
The Challenges
There are lots of models and approaches, but they are not evidence-based. They all say something different, so which one is right?
Academic research provides evidence, but often is too narrow and doesn’t study business teams in the context of their real work. When you read the detail, they frequently use groups of students who come together for a lunchtime activity to do something like build a bridge out of pasta!
Real teams don’t work this way. Most models and research don’t explore teams as part of a larger system.
Our Quest
Our research addresses all these failings.
We have built an assessment and model that embraces the complexity of teams, examines the team as a unit with a broader system, considers team performance on multiple dimensions, and tested it with real teams doing real work.
We have partnered with Monash University since 2018 to provide rigour to our analysis. We can now provide teams with a reliable, evidence-based solution.

To make TopTeams accessible to all teams, we have created three fixed-price core offerings which include a 6-month re-assessment. In addition, we offer a Multi-Team or Bespoke option that is priced on enquiry.
